A. James Kreider Jr.

LEBANON A. James "Jim" Kreider, Jr., 84, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center Hospice. He was the husband of Elma Jean Swope Kreider, to whom he was married 34 years. Born in Lebanon on August 12, 1930, he was the son of the late A. James, Sr. and Effie G. Holstein Kreider. He was the Vice President of Sales and Operations for Lebanon Packaging Company. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea and a 1948 graduate of Annville High School, a 1952 graduate of Dartmouth College and a 1953 graduate of the Tuck School of Business. He was a member of the Annville United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer, card player, and dancer.

Surviving is a son, A. James Kreider III; daughters, Linda wife of Joel Wells of Ponte Vedra, Fla., Dawn wife of Patrick deGrouchy of Philadelphia, and Sallie Anne wife of David Bird of Galloway, N.J.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Andrew R. Kreider III and wife Marla of Atlanta, Ga.; and a sister, Judith wife of William LeRoy of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. P. Laurence Kreider.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Mt. Annville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center Hospice, 1700 S.
