Anna K. (Kreider) Engle, age 87, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg and formerly of Campbelltown, PA, died Tuesday evening at the Village.
She was born Saturday, July 3, 1915 in Campbelltown, PA, the daughter of the late Bishop Henry and Katie Hoffman Kreider.She was a homemaker and a member of Messiah Village Brethren in Christ Church; was active in the Palmyra Brethren in Christ Church, its Children's Ministries and its Music Program. She had also served on its Deacons' Committee for 16 years. She had volunteered for 16 years at the Kenbrook Bible Camp Retreat Center of Lebanon; was also active as a volunteer for 23 years at Messiah Village. She loved music and needlework.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Engle; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. John E. and Ruth Engle of Waterville, ME, Dr. James R. and Peg Engle of Harrisonburg, VA, Dr. Eugene K. and Ann Engle of Manheim, PA and Richard L. and Donna Engle of Poughkeepsie, NY; her daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn G. and Dr. John M. Wolgemuth of Lancaster and Joanne M. and Lewis Miller of Roswell, GA; along with twenty-three grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2002, at the Messiah Village Brethren in Christ Church, 100 Mt. Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, with the Reverend C. Ronald Burgard officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the United Christian Cemetery, Campbelltown, PA. Visitation will be held from 9: 30-11 a.m. Friday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Messiah Village Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 2015, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
