LEBANON Carl F. Kreider, 88, died Friday, March 16, 2012, in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Bertha Dundore Kreider. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on March 14, 2012. Born in Lebanon, on August 23, 1923, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Effie D. Eby Kreider. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1941. Carl was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Carl took part in the Invasion of Normandy, where he received a purple heart for his bravery. He worked as a machinist for Bethlehem Steel Corp., Lebanon, for more than 40 years until his retirement. Carl was a member of Tabor United Church of Christ, Lebanon, where he was Sunday School secretary for many years. He enjoyed helping people, traveling, camping, and tending to his garden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David C. Kreider and wife, Charity of Mt. Wilson; two daughters, Linda, wife of W. Ford Rau of Cornwall, and Deborah, wife of Paul Miller of Lebanon; a brother, Robert E. Kreider of Palmyra; a sister, Christine Schott of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Christopher, Sherrie, Erik, and Paige; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lindsay, and Carly; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
