Fern E. (Fasnacht) Kreider, 93, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home.
She was the widow of Lester L. Kreider.
She was born Friday, May 26, 1916 in Palmyra, to the late Enos G. and Emma E. (Snavely) Fasnacht.
She had worked in the office at J. Landis Shoe Company for 16 years, was a member of Fontana Christian Fellowship Church, Adult Bible Class, Rotary Anns, Paul Harris Fellow, Gideons Auxillary - Lebanon West, and Palmyra Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a daughter, Jill L. Smucker and husband Loran of Massillon, OH; three grandchildren, Katie Smucker of Malvern, OH, Matthew and wife Linda (Miller) of Massillon, OH, Kara and husband Richard Hanlon II of Akron, OH; one great grandchild, Andrew Walters, son of Katie. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Arlene M. Balsbaugh, wife of the late Clair Balsbaugh of Palmyra.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at Fontana Chapel United Christian Church, 22 Fontana Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Brian A. Farling officiating. Family and friends are invited for a time of viewing from 9 a.m., until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
