Marion E Miller Light Obituary

Marion E. Light, 88, of the Countryside Christian Community, formerly of Jonestown, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the home. She was the wife of the late J. Mervin Light. Born in Steelstown, on November 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Edith Yerger Miller.

She was a member of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, where she was a member of King's Daughters. She volunteered for several years at her church and also for Countryside Christian Community. She loved quilting, sewing, crocheting, and baking, and was especially known for her Lancaster whoopee pies, lemon meringue pies, and her sugar cookies.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin, husband of Nora Light of Jonestown, and Brian M. Light of York; daughters, Donna M., wife of Elson Hostetter of Jonestown, and Carol G., wife of Ronald Scipioni of Enola; brothers, William Miller of Palmyra and Aaron Miller of N. Annville Twp.; sisters, Irene Sechrist of Lebanon, and Helen Krall and Anna Hitz, both of N. Annville Twp.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Charles Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, Rt. 343 and Shirksville Road. Viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Mt. Annville Cemetery, N. Annville Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church at P.O.
