Mrs. Lydia S. Kettering, nee Kreider, widow of Henry S. Kettering, died Sunday night at her home, 327 East Main Street, Annville. The deceased was aged 77 years. Heart disease was attributed as the cause of death. Mrs. Kettering had been under the care of physicians for the past eight weeks. She was one of the best known residents of Annville and the news of her death was a complete shock to the entire community. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her. The deceased was a faithful and active member of Gingrich's Mennonite Church. Besides being actively engaged in the promotion of the church and its agencies, Mrs. Kettering was a kind, lovable person, who throughout her entire life, performed many deeds of kindness and at all times aided and assisted those in need. She was the last of the family of David and Magdalena Kreider. The following survive: Two sons, Alvin K. Kettering, Annville; Harry E. Kettering, Clarksburg, West Virginia; one daughter, Mrs. Violet Nagle, at home; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
