Charles O. Griffie, 73, of Boiling Springs, PA died on Sunday morning, February 26, 2012 at home with his son Joseph at his side. He was born on March 17, 1938 in Carlisle, PA to the late William G. and Vera E. Schrade Griffie Sr. Charles was married for 16 years to the late Marian E.Bucher Pompeo Griffie who died on March 4, 2011.
Charles retired after 30 years of employment from the PPG Industries of Carlisle. He was a member of the Carlisle Church of The Brethren and was in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam Conflict. Charles enjoyed yard work and gardening around there home.
He is survived by his loving son, Joseph W. Pompeo of Mechanicsburg, a sister, Marion Wire and her husband Lloyd of Dillsburg, three brothers, Ronald Griffie and his wife Pat of Gardners, Donald Griffie and his wife Darlene of Latimore Valley, William G. Griffie, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Gardners and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA. Officiating will be his pastor's the Reverend James and Marla Abe. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Wednesday in the funeral home from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.
