WELL-KNOWN BELLVILLE MAN WAS SON OF EARLY ASHLAND COUNTY SETTLERS.

BELLVILLE - ABRAHAM S. LANTZ, 74, widely-known Richland county resident, died at his home near Bellville early today after an illness of over a year.

Born in Ashland county, August 29, 1862, Mr. Lantz, the son of Samuel and Leah Lantz, early settlers in this territory, moved with his parents at the age of three to the farm near Bellville where he spent the rest of his life. He was one of a family of nine children.

Mr. Lantz was active in various affairs. He served on the Bellville School Board for many years and was director of the county infirmary for two terms. He was a charter member of the Casca chapter, 382, K of P, lodge of Bellville.

On September 10, 1896, he was married to Cora Ada Steel, who survives, in addition to a son, Paul; a daughter, Mrs. Marry Sugg; a brother, Albert W. Lantz; a granddaughter, Mary Ann Sugg, all of Bellville.

Funeral servicers will be conducted at the home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday by Rev. Harold H. Maxwell. Internment in the Shauck Cemetery.
