Norman G. Fahnestock

Norman G. Fahnestock, 90, formerly of 36 South Oak Street, Manheim, and a resident of Brethren Village, Lancaster, died peacefully following a brief illness on Monday, June 26, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital Lancaster. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Monroe G. and Susan Ginder Fahnestock. In 1980 Norman retired from Agway-Manheim where he worked in the shipping department, previously he was employed by the former PA Farm Bureau Florin Branch. He was the husband of the late Ruth J. Kreider Fahnestock.

A member of White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim, Norman taught Sunday school and was song leader at the church for many years.

Surviving is a brother, Rufus G., husband of Marie Fahnestock, of Manheim; five sisters, Theda Sensenig of Zion Retirement Community, Lititz, Mary Loump of Mount Joy, Nettie Krall of Myerstown, Edith Fahnestock of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, and Mabel, wife of Alvin Diffenderfer, of Manheim; and a sister-in-law, Verda Fahnestock of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a sister Esther Fahnestock; and three brothers, Elmer, Allen, and Monroe G. Fahnestock.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the White Oak Church Of The Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with ministers Carl R. Groff and Luther R. Patches officiating. Interment in Graybills Brethren Cemetery Elm. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with additional viewing time at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
