Charles C. Heisey, 81, of Maytown, died Wednesday February 18, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy facility. He was the husband of Lorraine (Smith) Heisey, and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on February 12, 2009. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Raymond Z. and Anna Mae (Buller) Heisey. He was a graduate of the former Mount Joy High School and is an alumni member. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. Charles retired as the Director of Maintenance from the New Cumberland Army Depot.
He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mount Joy; he held life memberships in Manheim Sportsmen's Association, Deer Association, North American Hunting Club, and the Maytown Historical Society. He was also a member of the NRA and the Donegal Society.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Gary husband of Janice (Nixon) Heisey of Ashville, NC; two grandchildren, Alexander and Emma Heisey; and two brothers, Harold husband of Darcy Heisey of Chambersburg, and George husband of Joan Heisey of Landisville. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Heisey, a brother, Raymond Heisey, and a sister, Dorothy McLaughlin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the Heilig Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St., Mount Joy, PA on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Erica Wood officiating. Interment will be in Mastersonville Brethren in Christ Cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
