Daniel J. Kreider, 86, of 11 Greenhouse Lane, Palmyra formerly of Cleona died Saturday January 18, 2014 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Jeanette H. Feeman Kreider who died in 2004.

Born in Lebanon on April 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Jacob and Ida Horst Kreider. He began his employment as a carpenter and built several homes, then worked for the Hershey Lumber Company, and then for over 30 years he sold real estate and was the owner of Penn Avenue Real Estate, Cleona. He also served as a Lebanon County Commissioner in the early 80's.

Dan was a US Army Veteran of Korea, graduated from Lebanon High School in 1945, and also from Hershey Junior College. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Lebanon where he taught Sunday school, Mt. Lebanon Lodge, #226 F. & A.M, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple Shrine where he was active in the Antique and Classic Car Unit, past president of the Lebanon County Shrine Club, and a member of the Lebanon Barber Shoppers.

Surviving is a son Timothy D. husband of Diane Kreider of Palmyra, Lynn M. wife of Donald Miller of Ephrata, four grandchildren Stephanie wife of Brad Foreman's, Julia Kreider fiance of Jeff Fuhrman, Elana wife of Nick Kipe, and Aaron Miller, and a great grandson Caleb Kipe. He was preceded in death by a brother Abraham Kreider and a sister Ruth Kreider Masimer.
