Joseph H. Yiengst, 85, Lebanon, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Myrl G. Kreider Yiengst. He was born in Lebanon County April 4, 1921, son of the late Henry and Gertrude Bates Yiengst.

He had 14 years service at Alcoa. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, receiving a Bronze Star for a number of inventions he developed as well as the Good Conduct, American Campaign, EAME with a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Lebanon VFW Post 23, 449th Bomb Group, AARP, Lebanon Senior Center and Weavertown Fire Co.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children Henry J., husband of Cynthia Yiengst, Flora Paul, Carole Miller, all of Lebanon; grandchildren Kevin Yiengst, Kerry Yiengst, Sgt. Heather Paul, Zachary Miller; great-grandchildren Natasha, Katie Jo, Braydon and Jason Yiengst; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Daniel Yiengst and sister Arletta Sattazahn.
