Joseph A. Stoner, 75, Former School Director

EAST BERLIN - Joseph A. Stoner, 75, of East Berlin RD 2, died Monday in Brethren Home, New Oxford.

He was a master farmer, an officer of the Adams County Extension Service and a former school director for Reading Twp. and Bermudian Springs. He was a charter member and deacon and had held other offices at Morning Hour Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace E. Stoner, a daughter. Mrs. Mary A. Engle of Grantham; eight sons, Ronald K. of Hanover, Samuel K. and Gerald K., both of East Berlin, John K. of Akron, Robert K. of Gardena, Calif., Jesse K. and Martin K., both of New Oxford, and Benjamin K. of Pasadena, Calif.; a brother, Jacob S. of Mechanicsburg; four sisters. Miss Clara E. Stoner of New Oxford, Mrs. Ruth McCulloh of Worthington, Ohio, Mrs. Martha Bechtel of Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Grace M. Lady of Mechanicsburg; 21 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Morning Hour Chapel church. The Rev. Herbert J. Hoover will officiate. Burial will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Grantham Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at 232 Main St., York Springs, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
