Mrs. Mary E. Herr, one of Palmyra's best known residents, died suddenly last evening at her home, 322 East Main Street, from a heart attack, as she was preparing to enter a hospital for treatment. Mrs. Herr, who was 70 years of age, had been under the care of a physician for the past three weeks but she continued her daily routine about the house. She was the widow of Rudoph Herr who died twenty-eight years ago.
Mrs. Herr was born near Cleona, a daughter of the late Ezra and Lydia (Heilman) Kreider, and lived in and around the Palmyra locality practically all her life.
She was an active member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church at Palmyra for many years. She also belonged to the Sunshine Bible Class of the Sunday School, and the Ladies Aid and Missionary Societies of the Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs George Neidig, Lebanon, and Mrs. Earl Seibert, Huntingdon, Pa.; one son, Harold H. Herr, Palmyra; three grandchildren, and a brother Titus Kreider, Brooklyn, N.Y.
