Joseph Kreider, widely known and highly esteemed in the United Christian denomination of the city and county, passed away at 2:15 o'clock this morning, at his home at 4 East Penn Avenue, Cleona. Although he was known to be suffering from a heart condition for some years, his death was sudden and unexpected as he was able to be about the house until last week and was confined to bed only five days. He was aged 70 years
Mr. Kreider was born and reared in the county and spent most of his career in the farming industry. He retired from that vocation about twenty years ago and moved to Cleona and thereafter devoted himself to carpentering activities. He lived an exemplary Christian life and was held in high regard as a neighbor and friend. He was particularly active as a member of the United Christian Church at Sunnyside.
He leaves his wife, Fannie (Bachman) Kreider; a son, Rev. J. Ammon Kreider, of Lebanon RFD No. 5; three brothers - Levi, of North Annville township; Jonas, of South Annville, and John, of South Ninth Street, Lebanon; and four sister - Mrs. Lizzie Winters, of Sunnyside; Mrs. Solomon Heisey, Rexmont; Mrs. Sallie Bomberger, Iona, and Mrs. Moses Kreider and Mrs. Fannie Longenecker, both of Lebanon Rural Route No. 4.
