DEATH CLAIMS MRS. KREIDER EARLY TODAY

Following a Brief Illness at Her Home in Palmyra

The community of Palmyra was deeply grieved today over the sudden death early this morning of one of its prominent citizens, Mrs, Lydia B. Kreider, wife of W. E. Kreider, president of the W. L. Kreider Sons Manufacturing company of Palmyra, and also president of the Kreider-Creveling Shoe company of Boston, Mass.

Mrs. Kreider attended the Charter Night dinner of the newly organized Palmyra Rotary Club last evening and became ill. She died at her home at 430 East Main street at 12:45 a.m. today.

Mrs. Kreider, who was fifty three years of age, had been in ill health for some time, but her condition had improved during the recent months, and permitted her to resume her activities on a modified scale.

Mrs. Kreider was endowed with a cheerful disposition that was an inspiration to all who came in contact with her. She was a devoted wife and mother; was active, when her health permitted, in activities of the church and community, and quietly, engaged in many charitable missions to those less fortunate than herself. She was also chairman of the visiting committee of the Palmyra Relief Association. Born near the Hill Church, a daughter of the late Ezra and Lydia Kreider, she was a resident of Palmyra for thirty-four years. She was a member of the First United Brethren church of that community; a member of the Loyal Workers class of the Sunday school; a teacher for a number of years of the Jewel class of the Sunday school; was a member Of the Woman's Missionary Association of the church, and had served as its president for a number of years; was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church, the Women's Christian Temperance Union of the borough, and the Palmyra Woman's club.

The survivors are her husband: one son, David H., of Palmyra; and a daughter, Miss Mildred I. Kreider, at home. Three grandchildren, and two sisters and two brothers also survive as follows: Mrs. Mary E. Herr, and Mrs. Joseph Kettering, both of Palmyra; Titus H. Kreider, of Brooklyn, N. Y.; and Ezra Kreider, of Cleona.
