Ernestine Anna Shuey, 89, formerly of Miami, FL, and Ono, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 in Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, SC. She was the wife of the late Rev. H. Carl Shuey. She was born on March 8, 1915 in Dauphin County, and was the daughter of the late Clement Albert and Ellen Kreider Albert Weikel.
Ernestine was an ordained Missionary Minister of the God's Missionary Church, Inc., and she, along with her husband and family, served as missionaries from 1959-1960 on the Island of Cuba. From 1961 until 2002, they ministered to the Cuban and Hispanic people of Key West and Miami, FL. She was a member of the Lebanon Valley Holiness Association, charter member of the Lebanon Valley Gospel Band, and a member of the Lebanon God's Missionary Church. She graduated from Jonestown High School in 1930 and the Lebanon Valley College Business School.
Surviving are a son, Larry C., husband of Martha Shuey of Ono; daughters, Marilyn W., wife of the Rev. Herman K. Noll of Paoli, IN, Carlene R., wife of H. Glenn Spitler of Ono, and Jean K., wife of John Yount of Greenville, SC; one sister, Marion Souillard of Carmel, IN; 12 grandchildren, Donna Sexton, Bradley Spitler, Alisa Brown, Darrell Spitler, John Yount III, Janan Krager, Jeremy Yount, Joel Yount, Janel Yount, Joseph Yount, Michelle Brenizer, Lance Shuey; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Binkley and Eleanor Roth.
Funeral Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Lebanon God's Missionary Church, Lebanon. Burial in Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Ono.
