Wm. C. Shertzer

William C. Shertzer, husband of Miriam Kreider Shertzer, 404 W. Main St., Palmyra, died this morning in the Good Samaritan Hospital after an illness of the last six weeks. He was 80.

A native of Dauphin County, he was a son of the late David and Mary Shertzer. He was a retired plumber, working in Palmyra most of his life, and for 18 years worked as a plumber at the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation. He retired in 1958.

He was an Army veteran of World War I, and received a Purple Heart for wounds suffered in France. He was a member of the Palmyra VFW Post 6417, the Palmyra American Legion Post 72, and the Last Man's Club of World War I of the Palmyra American Legion. He was a member of the Annville American Legion and the Union Hose Co. of Annville, the Washington Band Club and the Citizens Fire Co. of Palmyra.

He was the last of his family. He is survived in addition to his wife, by two nieces and several nephews.
