79 YEARS OF AGE
Trustee of Salem Evan. Church for Half Century

Amos Kreider, one of the most prominent citizens of East Hanober township and widely known and highly esteemed throughout the northern part of the county as well as in the city, passed away Sunday at his home, at Ono, where he conducted a small farm. He had been in failing health for some time, and general debility was ascribed as the cause of his death. He was in the 79th year of his age.

Mr. Kreider was born and reared in the vicinity where he spent most of his life. He was particularly active as a member of Salem Evangelical church, at Ono, in which he was a trustee for over half a centuryand was treasurer of the Sunday school also for over a period of fifty years.

He led a truly exemplary Christian life, and possessed traits of heart and mind which endeared him to all who had the good fortune to know him. He was particularly admired in the township where he spent his life and where much of his time was devoted to the public good. He served on the township school board for a number of years, and was deeply interested in everything that pertained to the community welfare.

He was also indentified with the Jonestown Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Besides his wife, Agnes, he leaves three children - Carrie B., wife of Elias Wengert, Lebanon; Sadie, of Cleona, widow of Harry Wengert, and Ira Kreider, a prominent citizen of Ono.

The funeral on Wednesday afternoon is likely to be very largely attended because of the prominence and popularity of the departed citizen.
