Edwin B. Kreider, 75, Prominent Farmer, Is Dead

Edwin B. Kreider, Lebanon R. D. 4, a prominent South Annville Township farmer, chuchman, and civic leader, died at 2 o'clock yesterday afteroon at his home following an illness of several years. He was 75.

Although he had long been ill he had been bedfast for only a few weeks. His death was termed the result of complications.

A native of North Cornwall Township and the son of the late Henry and Fannie Bachman Kreider, the deceased resided in South Annville Township most of his life. Prior to his ill health, which forced him to relinquish many of his activities, he was a leader in agriculture and community affairs. His farm is presently operated by a son, Joseph M. Kreider.

He was an active member of the Fontana United Christian Church and Sunday School, serving as superintendent of the Sunday School for 20 years. He was also a member of the South Annville School Board for 12 years; a member of the Cleona Campmeeting Association, and for six years a member of the board of directors of the Fontana Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, the former Katie Light; five sons: Herman R., Lebanon; Ira L. and Elmer L., Annville; Joseph M., Lebanon R. D. 4; Lester L., Palmyra; three daughters, Elizabeth M., at home; Mrs. David Gish, Palmyra R. D. 1, and Mrs. Harvey Wenger, Lebanon R. D. 4. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and one brother, George Z. Kreider, Palmyra.
